Denmark in my blood -- Brass repousse knotwork in a circle.
Some of my family's roots are from Denmark and I've always felt a strong connection to the Nordic world and its people but this is the first good knotwork I've done in metal. The brass piece is 6" wide and is mounted on a piece of slate with a circular painted design. The slate is 16" tall and weighs about 6 pounds. $350. Free Shipping in USA
BEAUTIFUL MUSIC FROM DENMARK
This is an art website but musical expression and visual expression come from the same place and If not for music, this website would not exist. I've decided to use this page to tell you about my favorite radio station, Denmark Radio. Ever since the girl with the Viking compass helped me get back on course, I've come to realize just how powerful music can be. Lately, I've been craving new music more than ever and Denmark has been calling to my heart. In recent years, I've become more interested in my family roots from both sides, Norman and Danish. I've been thinking about Denmark a lot in recent years. One day I was curious so I searched the Internet for Danish music, and I found DR - "Denmark Radio".
I've been listening to music on DR's website for over a year now and I love it! They have multiple channels with all kinds of music 24 hours a day. It's turned out to be an excellent place to discover new music and artists. DR.DK has a great website and even though I don't speak Danish, somehow, I feel right at home when listening. The most important thing is the music and that speaks to me no matter what language it's in. Since I've been listening to DR, I've discovered a lot of great new music. There are so many new recording artists that are new to me, not only from Denmark but from all over the world.
Many of the Danish-based artists have become favorites of mine but there is one artist who's music really moves me, Hannah Schneider!
MUSIC INSPIRES ART
Music definitely inspires art! I'm always listening to music when I'm making things. Some of my favorites are Giana Factory, Trentmoller, Marie Fiskar, Josephine Philip, Efterklang, Hannah Schneider, Clara Sofie, Tracey Thorn, Ane Trolle, Jasmin, Sys Bjerre and others, I'm still discovering! Of course it was Bjork who made me more curious in the first place. Her music was like a kind of Nordic Guidance that has led me to all this new music!
Here are a few music videos by artists I like. I like a lot of music but I'm really getting into Danish right now!
