Riverside cemetery opened in 1876.</div> <div> Its a bit run down and weathered but has a lot of character and many of Denver's pioneers and early important citizens are buried there.  The cemetery covers 77 acres and is near the Platte river, it has a lot  of really interesting tombstones and grave markers, some are in poor condition due to the elements and vandals but this old grave yard still has charm.  Riverside cemetery is more spooky looking than the other local cemeteries.
